When melted the wax from my favorite candle puts out the wick! Can I dig some wax out and create a new candle?
Question by Brigit B: When melted the wax from my favorite candle puts out the wick! Can I dig some wax out and create a new candle?
Every time I try and light my candle the melted wax puts out the flame because my candle has too much wax in it.
Is it possible to scoop some of the wax out and create a new candle from the excess wax? I love this candle so I want to use up every last bit of wax if I can.

If it’s a non-aromatic candle it shouldn’t be a problem, just remember to use a real wick (not just string) and put it in a heat tolerable container.
If it’s an aromatic candle and the smell is why you love it…. no real way of knowing how remelting the wax to form a new one might affect the smell, but if you have to dig the wax out anyway…why not try?
I’m not sure how large your candle is or if it’s already in a jar, but if it’s not, maybe consider slicing off the top to give the candle a new start. Then you can still try making a secondary candle out of the part you cut off…..just an idea.
Hope you figure it out!
